The advantages are that it improves productivity, improves the quality of work, reduces input costs and allows you to control expenses and improve your everyday working environment.

Leaders in precision farming technology
A world leader in precision farming equipment is Amazone, who deliver innovative and leading German technology through all of their product solutions. Amazone have pioneered the way farm implements are developed and maintain their technological superiority though constant innovation and uncompromising manufacturing standards. They offer a very large range of solutions, but are perhaps best known for their spreaders, sprayers and soil tillage equipment.

The Amazone spreader range is extensive and variations and choices are vast, depending on the farmer’s needs and the optimum spreading performance required. The implements are imported from Germany by Falcon Agricultural Equipment, and getting the necessary knowledge and advice from one of the Falcon appointed and trained dealers is imperative to ensure that the right customisation is achieved and the farmer’s exact needs are met.

Fertiliser spreaders with endless features and benefits
Key advantages of all Amazone spreaders include the ability to deliver high spreading speeds, extreme accuracy of spreading, variable-rate application and the vast spreading widths the machines can work to, with some of the newer models being able to spread with accuracy over 50 m. The highly accurate weigh cells (where fitted) give an exact measure of fertiliser in the hopper and a tilt sensor corrects any errors that could make the readings inaccurate from operating on hills or slopes. They are also designed to accommodate a wide range of material and grain sizes and have innovative calibration methods to ensure accuracy and to ensure that they are user-friendly.

Of course, one of the greatest advantages these high-tech precision farming implements offer is the regulating electronics through any suitable ISOBUS terminal (software dependent). Amazone’s own terminal is referred to as the Amatron 3, but the full compliance of the spreaders with ISOBUS terminals ensures complete compatibility of data transfer with any chosen ISOBUS terminal. This allows the farmer to control every element of the spreading process with extreme accuracy as well as getting real-time data and output information. The clear, simple and logical handling of the Amatron 3 with its back-lit keys makes it especially operator-friendly.

The “Rolls Royce” spreader from Amazone is the ZA-TS fertiliser spreader. It is a large-area spreader for working widths of 18 to 54 m and is equipped with a precision spreader unit with an integrated AutoTS border-spreading device. The AutoTS border-spreading functions provide an accurate trajectory of the spread pattern, resulting in optimum growth conditions right up to the field’s border. It has a hydraulic drive for spreading discs and hopper volumes of up to 4 200 ℓ. The ZA-TS has a payload of up to 4 500 kg with an Ultra-style frame. When used with the Amatron 3 it allows for DynamicSpread section control of up to 64 sections.

DynamicSpread Innovation Award
Amazone has recently won an innovation award for its dynamic section control, known as DynamicSpread, which is achievable with the ZA-TS Hydro or ZG-TS Hydro fertiliser spreaders. DynamicSpread won the prestigious accolade because of the way it allows for the adjustment of the working width and spread rate with precision to different area structures. DynamicSpread can offer section control of up to 128 sections; however, this is terminal dependent, and currently section control from 16 through to 64 is achievable with the terminals available in South Africa. The 128-section control capability does, however, show the accuracy and capabilities of the spreaders in terms of their flow control, delivery system and disc speed control via the hydraulically driven spreading discs.
