What to look out for when you buy equipment

 In General

There are many aspects farmers or other consumers need to look at today to ensure that they buy good-quality equipment, and also the right equipment for the task. There are so many competing suppliers in the market place that can make life difficult for the end consumer. Our advice is to look at the following things, among others:

First: Does the company concerned have a warranty policy? Few suppliers offer warranties and it could cost you a lot of money if they have sold you the wrong implement for the work you want to do. Falcon offers a 2–3-year warranty, depending on the implement you buy.
Secondly: What type and quality of material has been used? Some implements may look like Falcon implements, for example, but are not anywhere close to the same quality or durability as ours. Many imported implements are available at lower prices today, but are not made for our South African conditions and do not last anywhere near as long as Falcon implements. So in the end it costs you much more if you have to replace equipment – in time, money and frustration.
Another big factor to look at is availability of spare parts. How accessible is your network of spare parts? If your implement or machine requires spare parts and you battle to get hold of those parts, it means production time lost, leading to income lost. Falcon has more than 300 accredited dealers across South Africa and also in various African countries, for convenience and accessibility for our customers.

Another very important point is that there are many spare parts available on the market which are not originals. Falcon’s warranties fall away if customers have not used original Falcon spare parts and encounter problems as a result.

Lastly, it is also very important to ask about assistance with services and repairs.

These are all aspects that need to be considered for the best purchase for your purposes and requirements. In the end you have to be happy and the whole transaction must work in your favour.
